We booked our holiday in Malawi and Zambia with Matoke Tours after a previous excellent experience with them on a trip to Uganda.
The Malawi and Zambia trip was fantastic. The accommodations on this holiday were top notch with excellent service, food, guiding and game sighting (fabulous leopard and wild dog sightings in Zambia and a pride of lions walking nonchalantly in the road in front of us in Malawi). We were made to feel special everywhere with bush brunches, bush sundowners for the whole camp, and special dinner table spots. The organisation on the ground was superb and all the transfers went without a hitch. The transfer on a 4 seater plane was a real treat.
We have been on several safaris and this is a long safari holiday and very full on. As a result, we mixed morning game drives with afternoons on the river either having a sundowner cruise or fishing when wanted some downtime as the afternoon game drives were all combined with night safaris which can make days very long and tiring. If we were to change anything, we probably would have added an extra night at one of the lodges in Malawi for relaxation.
We would highly recommend Matoke Tours and will likely be using their services again in the future.
